Permaculture Service Areas: Alberta & Western Canada
Expanding Edge designs and implements regenerative systems where Canadian land needs them most — with Alberta as our operational core and Western Canada as our growth frontier.
Why Western Canada First
The Prairies, parkland, foothills, and interior valleys hold enormous potential for regenerative food systems — and face real constraints: short seasons, wind, drought cycles, variable soils, and infrastructure costs. Expanding Edge is building Canada’s largest permaculture implementation capacity here first: design that understands the climate, and crews that put earthworks and plantings in the ground.
Alberta — Primary Service Territory
Alberta is home base for Expanding Edge Permaculture. We support acreages, farms, and homestead projects across the province with site design, consulting, and hands-on implementation.
Edmonton Capital Region
Permaculture design and implementation for Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, and surrounding counties — Parkland, Sturgeon, Strathcona, and Leduc County acreages.
Calgary & Southern Foothills
Projects in Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, High River, Rocky View County, Foothills County, and mountain-adjacent properties needing wind protection, chinook-aware plantings, and water-smart design.
Central Alberta
Red Deer, Lacombe, Ponoka, Wetaskiwin, Camrose, and central farm country — ideal for integrated livestock, water systems, and multi-enterprise regenerative layouts.
Southern Alberta
Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Taber, Brooks, and irrigation country. Semi-arid conditions demand serious water harvesting, soil building, and species selection — our specialty.
Peace Country & North
Grande Prairie, Peace River, High Level region, and northern holdings with long days, short seasons, and unique microclimate opportunities for hardy food systems.
Rural Alberta Province-Wide
If you own productive or underused land anywhere in Alberta — quarter sections, hobby farms, or multi-generational operations — we can map, design, and help implement a regenerative plan.
British Columbia
We support regenerative design and select implementation in BC’s Interior and north: Okanagan, Kootenays, Cariboo, and Peace River regions. Coastal properties are excellent candidates for remote design and consulting with local planting partners.
Saskatchewan
Prairie farms and acreages near Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, and rural municipalities benefit from drought-smart earthworks, shelterbelts, and diversified perennial systems. Expanding Edge brings Alberta-proven cold-climate methods to Saskatchewan landholders.
Manitoba
Winnipeg capital region and rural Manitoba properties seeking cold-climate food forests, water management, and regenerative farm planning. Design packages available province-wide; on-site implementation scheduled by project scope.
Canada-Wide Remote Design
Our interactive site design tool and consulting practice can support properties across Canada. Implementation priority remains Alberta and Western Canada as we scale toward becoming the country’s largest professional permaculture implementation company.
